To overcome the sometimes spotty Wi-fi networks at the airport, and the decreasing amount of disc drives in laptops, one company is using the popularity of USB Flash Drives to its advantage when it comes to the ever popular movie rental kiosk. Just a few weeks ago, the MSP International Airport installed the Digiboo kiosk. Here’s how it works: simply plug a USB flash drive into the kiosk, choose a movie to rent, pay for it, download it, and you’re ready to watch your flick! The company is launching this project with a back catalog of over 600 titles from major movie studios. The market for this application is certainly in demand for travelers that may have forgotten to bring their own in-flight entertainment. With each video file taking up about 2GB, most standard flash drives are more than capable of holding a few of these movies.
